Fresh Cut Saturday

by The Concrete Choir

A barbershop Saturday turned into a block-party anthem, organ swells over a dusty break.

Tracks

  1. 1. Fresh Cut SaturdayThis one is pure Saturday morning for us, sun on the glass and the whole block moving. We wrote the hook so the room could answer back before we even finished the line.gospel hip hop, soul breaks, block party3:14

Liner notes

We cut this the same weekend we were taping the basement sessions, and it just wouldn't leave us alone. It's the sound of the line out the door, the clippers buzzing, everybody talking at once. We wanted the organ to sound like the whole street was saying amen to a fresh fade.
