Cassian Vale

A Montreal countertenor who writes hushed piano songs about night trains and borrowed rooms. His high, floating voice makes small songs feel enormous.

Their story

Cassian Vale studied voice and composition in Montreal and began posting late-night piano recordings in 2022. A run of spare, candlelit songs led to his first EP, 'Borrowed Rooms', and a growing audience for neoclassical art song. His debut album 'Night Train Studies' is in progress and he is one of the label's fastest-rising newcomers.

Influences: Baroque lute songs, minimalist piano music, French mélodie, ambient film textures
