Dubwise Kemar

A London dub producer-vocalist who turned bedroom echo experiments into a sound-system favourite. He builds tunes at the mixing desk and plays them live as if it were an instrument.

Their story

Kemar Reid grew up around his uncle's Brixton sound system, carrying speaker boxes before he was allowed to touch the controls. In 2022 he began releasing dub versions of his own tunes online, and the 2023 EP "Echo Chamber Sunday" brought bookings at sound-system nights across London. His 2024 debut album "Tape Weather" made him a fresh voice in modern dub.

Influences: Seventies dub engineers, UK steppers and sound-system culture, late-night pirate radio, Brixton market bass
