Their story
Lin Xiaoqing grew up in a Toa Payoh HDB flat, singing along to the radio while her mother prepared dinner. She began posting piano-and-voice demos recorded in her bedroom in 2014, and her first EP, 'Corridor Light', found a small, loyal audience among commuters and students. Her 2017 debut album 'Void Deck Summer' brought her first wave of local radio play, followed by 'Two Stops Home' (2020) and 'Kopi Gao, Less Sweet' (2023), which settled her as one of the station's best-loved voices. Now in her mid-20s with a decade of records behind her, she is still writing about neighbours, last buses and the people who stay.
Influences: 80s and 90s Taiwanese and Singaporean ballads, Sunday-afternoon radio dedications, the hum of neighbourhood kopitiams, 90s Hong Kong cinema theme songs
