Lyrics
The sky goes heavy in the afternoon The air is warm and thick as honey First drops on the window, one and two Then the whole street is singing Let the monsoon come, let it come Let it fall on the roof, let it fall I will sit by the window and hear it all Let the monsoon come, let it come The gutters learn a quiet song The streetlight wears a silver halo Somewhere a door is open wide And the rain walks in like a neighbour Let the monsoon come, let it come Let it fall on the roof, let it fall I will sit by the window and hear it all Let the monsoon come, let it come Nothing to carry, nowhere to be Just the rain and the dark and me Just the rain and the dark and me The puddles hold the city lights And every light is trembling softly I breathe in slow, I breathe out slow And the rain keeps time beside me Let the monsoon come, let it come Let it fall on the roof, let it fall I will sit by the window and hear it all Let the monsoon come, let it come Let it come, let it come Let it fall
