Lyrics
Up the mountain road before the light Fog lies low in the valley white Hands on the wheel, the engine hums Every turn says morning comes Switchback, switchback, climbing slow Sunrise waits where the high roads go Hold the wheel and don't look down Gold is spilling over the town Switchback sunrise, take me higher Every bend is a little prayer Pine trees lean to watch us pass Silver rain on the windshield glass A little farther, a little more Somebody's lamp is at the door Switchback, switchback, climbing slow Sunrise waits where the high roads go Hold the wheel and don't look down Gold is spilling over the town Switchback sunrise, take me higher Every bend is a little prayer I was tired, I was low Now the whole sky starts to glow Thank the road and thank the climb Thank the light for being on time Switchback, switchback, climbing slow Sunrise waits where the high roads go Hold the wheel and don't look down Gold is spilling over the town Switchback sunrise, take me higher Every bend is a little prayer Hold the wheel, the sun is here Hold the wheel, the way is clear
