Lyrics
Got my first job Monday, ironed shirt so clean Shoes are shining brighter than I ever seen Mama pack me lunch, she say do your best Pappa shake my hand and say you'll pass the test First job, first job, hear the Monday bell First job, first job, going to do it well Shout it out, hey, first job, hey Pay day coming and I'm on my way Boss say you are early, I say I like the sun Sweeping up the shop floor, now the day's begun Learn to count the till, learn to smile wide Every customer a neighbour coming inside First job, first job, hear the Monday bell First job, first job, going to do it well Shout it out, hey, first job, hey Pay day coming and I'm on my way Sore feet, sore feet, but my heart is light Clock out at six and the evening looks bright Coins in my pocket, jingle jangle jingle Dancing down the road, feeling like a single Friday come around and the envelope is mine Buy a little present, mama going to shine First job taught me what a hand can do Now I stand up tall and the whole street knows it too First job, first job, hear the Monday bell First job, first job, going to do it well Shout it out, hey, first job, hey Pay day coming and I'm on my way Hey, hey, first job, hey Monday bell ringing every day
