Lyrics
Lightning cracked and the lights went out The whole street gasped, then the whole street shouted Somebody lit a candle on the stair Somebody's grandma said, I'm not scared Power cut on Juniper Street Everybody's out on the front step Candles in the windows, bowls of rice Dark came down and the neighbours came alive Power cut on Juniper Street Who needs a switch when we've got the beat Mister Lee brought out his old guitar The kids found pots and a biscuit jar We never knew his name till tonight Now he's the king by candlelight Power cut on Juniper Street Everybody's out on the front step Candles in the windows, bowls of rice Dark came down and the neighbours came alive Power cut on Juniper Street Who needs a switch when we've got the beat Thunder keeps the time We clap along Rain on the rooftops Is a drum, is a song When the lights came back, nobody cheered We blew the candles out and stayed right here Same old street, but I know your name Same old rain, but it's not the same Power cut on Juniper Street Everybody's out on the front step Candles in the windows, bowls of rice Dark came down and the neighbours came alive Power cut on Juniper Street Who needs a switch when we've got the beat Juniper Street Who needs a switch When we've got the beat
