Lyrics
Old shoes on the wire Swinging in the dusk Laces tied together Dancing is a must They carried me to dances Down the Friday road Now they hang up high Where the evening wind has flowed Shoes on the wire Swaying in the breeze Shoes on the wire Above the quiet trees Every step I took Is a song that stays Shoes on the wire Dancing through the days Streetlight flickers on Pigeons settle down The bass is in the distance Soft across the town I look up and smile At the dancer I was then Echo of the footsteps Rolling round again Shoes on the wire Swaying in the breeze Shoes on the wire Above the quiet trees Every step I took Is a song that stays Shoes on the wire Dancing through the days Echo, sway Sway away Echo, sway Dusk and gray Let the bass roll slow Let the shadows play Shoes on the wire Swaying in the breeze Shoes on the wire Above the quiet trees Every step I took Is a song that stays Shoes on the wire Dancing through the days Swaying, swaying Through the days
