Lyrics
Last day done, the lights go low Boxes packed, I'm good to go Pen in the drawer, the chair pushed in Thirty years since I begin Empty desk, full heart Every ending is a start Empty desk, full heart Echo of the work I did with care Coffee mug upon the shelf Photo of my family and myself Footsteps ring down the long hall I touch the door, I touch the wall Empty desk, full heart Every ending is a start Empty desk, full heart Echo of the work I did with care Thank you, door, thank you, stair Thank you for the years I spent there Echo, echo, soft goodbye Under the evening sky Out in the street the air is sweet Slow, slow steps on my own two feet Tomorrow morning I sleep till late Nowhere to be, no need to wait Empty desk, full heart Every ending is a start Empty desk, full heart Echo of the work I did with care Empty desk Full heart
