Lyrics
Bus stop flooded, sky coming down Black umbrella, I'm the only one around Then she stepped under like it's no big deal Shoulders touching, trying not to feel Soaked-through sneakers, a laugh in her eyes Said I forgot mine, don't mind the size I said no problem, I'm going that way Wasn't going anywhere till she walked my way Rain on the canopy Beat like a drum Two strangers in step Wondering where this comes from Stranger under my umbrella, rain keep falling down Stranger under my umbrella, slow walk through the town I don't know your name, but I know this sound Stranger under my umbrella, don't let the sky clear now We talked about work and the weather's mood She said music, I said me too Her train was coming but she let it go Said next one's fine, I'm in no rush to go Puddles like mirrors, neon on the street Every crosswalk felt like a heartbeat Half my coat was wet, I didn't care Half a hello turned into a pair Rain on the canopy Beat like a drum Two strangers in step Wondering where this comes from Stranger under my umbrella, rain keep falling down Stranger under my umbrella, slow walk through the town I don't know your name, but I know this sound Stranger under my umbrella, don't let the sky clear now She tapped her number in my phone Said call me when it's dry, don't leave me alone I watched her disappear down the avenue Umbrella felt bigger than it ever did, true Moral of the story, keep a spare to share Kindness in the storm leads you somewhere I'll be at that stop when the clouds roll in Hoping for the start of a rain-made friend Stranger under my umbrella, rain keep falling down Stranger under my umbrella, slow walk through the town I don't know your name, but I know this sound Stranger under my umbrella, don't let the sky clear now Rain keep falling, rain keep falling Don't let the sky clear now
