Lyrics
I said I would come, and I came Through the dark and through the rain A word is a seed in the ground Water it slow, it grows around Promise kept, promise kept Dawn finds the one who never slept Promise kept, promise kept Hold the line, hold the line Long was the road and the night was deep Many would sleep, but I kept the keep My father taught me, a man is his word The oldest music ever heard Promise kept, promise kept Dawn finds the one who never slept Promise kept, promise kept Hold the line, hold the line Drum beat slow, drum beat slow Where I said I would go Drum beat slow, drum beat slow Now the morning lifts its head Every word I said I said Hand in hand we stand at the door Faithful now and evermore Promise kept, promise kept Dawn finds the one who never slept Promise kept, promise kept Hold the line, hold the line
