Lyrics
Through the wall I hear a piano Playing slow at half past ten Never met you in the hallway But I know you play it again Same soft song most every evening Missing notes and starting over I have never learned your name But you keep me company Goodnight, neighbour through the wall Play it slow, I hear it all Goodnight, neighbour through the wall You're a stranger and a friend When the rain is on the window And the whole building is sleeping Your soft song comes drifting over Like a lamp left on for me Goodnight, neighbour through the wall Play it slow, I hear it all Goodnight, neighbour through the wall You're a stranger and a friend Maybe someday we will wave On the stairs or by the door Until then I'll tap the wall Just to say I'm here Goodnight, neighbour through the wall Play it slow, I hear it all Goodnight, neighbour through the wall You're a stranger and a friend Play it slow I hear it all
