Lyrics
Nobody clapped when I finished the thing Just the kettle and the clock in the hall But I stood there a while with my hands at my sides Feeling quietly tall I'm proud, I'm proud, so softly proud No need to say it loud A little light is on inside I'm proud, I'm proud, so softly proud I fixed the shelf and I swept the floor I answered the letter I had been dreading And no one saw but the evening sun Gold on the bed I was making I'm proud, I'm proud, so softly proud No need to say it loud A little light is on inside I'm proud, I'm proud, so softly proud Small steps count, small steps count They add up to a mountain Breathe in slow, let it show Only to yourself I'm proud, I'm proud, so softly proud No need to say it loud A little light is on inside I'm proud, I'm proud, so softly proud So softly proud A little light is on inside
