Sunflower Shoes
by Luna Vega
“This is the A-side because it's the song that makes me feel the most like myself: confident, a little cheeky, and dressed in yellow. I hummed the hook for a week before I wrote down a single word.”

Lyrics
Found them at the back of the closet door Yellow like the morning, never worn before Lace them up quick, hear the floorboards sing Something in my step says today could be a thing Look down, look down Little sunshine on the ground Sunflower shoes, take me out the door Every step I take, I'm feeling ten feet more Sunflower shoes, make the whole street bright Walking on a wave of gold and light Neighbour at the gate says, nice, where'd you find those I just grin and spin on my tippy toes Crosswalk dancing, pavement keeping time Every little puddle's got a gold-leaf shine Look up, look up Everybody's smiling back Sunflower shoes, take me out the door Every step I take, I'm feeling ten feet more Sunflower shoes, make the whole street bright Walking on a wave of gold and light You don't need a reason to dress up your day Pull out the colour, let it lead the way One bold thing and the rest will follow Hello, hello, hello, hello Sunflower shoes, take me out the door Every step I take, I'm feeling ten feet more Sunflower shoes, make the whole street bright Walking on a wave of gold and light Sunflower shoes, sunflower shoes Step, step, shine
