Lyrics
Early in the morning Broom is in my hand Sweep the step, sweep the step Cleanest in the land Window shining bright now Sign is straight and true Nobody is watching But I know what I do Sweep the step, hold your head up high! Sweep the step, let the whole street know! Sweep the step, stand there proud and tall! Sweep the step, watch the good work show! Neighbour tips her hat now Baker waves hello Little things done proper That's the way to go Honest day of labour Honest little pride Shoulders back and smiling Nothing left to hide Sweep the step, hold your head up high! Sweep the step, let the whole street know! Sweep the step, stand there proud and tall! Sweep the step, watch the good work show! Hey! Do it right! Hey! Do it bright! Sun is on the doorway Floor is shining clean Prouder than a king now Best you've ever seen Sweep the step, hold your head up high! Sweep the step, let the whole street know! Sweep the step, stand there proud and tall! Sweep the step, watch the good work show! Sweep the step, sweep the step Let the whole street know!
