Open the Jar / Medal in the Drawer

by Skatalite Joe & the Ginger Horns

A double A-side about sweet pennies and a quiet hero, one for the kids and one for granddad.

Tracks

  1. 1. Penny Sweets Ska, Open the JarThe corner shop bell goes ding, and every kid in the queue gets a verse. Pure sugar and horns.sweet ska, playful ska2:09
  2. 2. Proud of My Grandfather Ska, Medal in the DrawerMy granddad never brags. He keeps his medal in a bag, and I wrote this so somebody would say it out loud.nostalgic ska, proud ska2:16

Liner notes

We released these two together because they came from the same week, a corner shop and a grandfather's drawer. One is all bell and sugar, the other is all pride. Play the first loud and the second a little softer.
