Lido Closed, Water Still Blue

by Vanta Lux

Liner notes

My newest record is about endings that aren't sad: the lido gate locked for the year, the chairs stacked by the sea, the gulls who stay anyway. I recorded it in the last weeks of summer and the first cold of autumn, live and at night, with the door open to the harbour. It's the quietest thing I've made. Fado taught me that restraint is the loudest thing you can do, and I'm still learning it.
