Lyrics
Up the stairs to the rooftop With a blanket and a thermos Aim the little telescope At the clouds that slowly clear The city lights are fading One by one below me The sky opens its window And the stars come near Borrowed stars, borrowed stars Shining from so far Borrowed stars, borrowed stars Wherever you are Look up, look up, we share them Look up, look up, they stay Borrowed stars, borrowed stars Light the way Saturn is a tiny ring Floating in the lens The moon is a pale bowl Of silver and of rain I think of someone far away Looking at the same one And the distance gets so small It slips right down the drain Borrowed stars, borrowed stars Shining from so far Borrowed stars, borrowed stars Wherever you are Look up, look up, we share them Look up, look up, they stay Borrowed stars, borrowed stars Light the way Turn the little dial Hold your breath and wait The sky is slowly turning It is never ever late Borrowed stars, borrowed stars Shining from so far Borrowed stars, borrowed stars Wherever you are Look up, look up, we share them Look up, look up, they stay Borrowed stars, borrowed stars Light the way Borrowed stars Wherever you are Light the way
