Lyrics
Five a.m. climbing up the fire stairs Sneakers on the rust, got the whole sky to spare City still asleep but my engine's on Orange on the skyline, I'm up before the dawn Notebook in my backpack, coffee in my hand Every rooftop's a stage if you know where to stand Yesterday said maybe, today says go I came up here to see how far the light can show Feel it rising, feel it rising Sun on my face and I'm not hiding Rise up, rise up, rooftop dawn Everybody up, we're moving on Rise up, rise up, light the way We've been waiting all night for the day Hands up high, here it comes Gold on the glass, here comes the sun Skye's on the ledge with her headphones loud Singing to the pigeons and the waking crowd Bakers hauling trays, bus drivers on the line We the early shift and the morning's all mine Second chance on the clock, I'm taking it slow No, I'm taking it fast, watch me go Every window's a mirror turning gold Nothing but the future and a story to be told Feel it rising, feel it rising Sun on my face and I'm not hiding Rise up, rise up, rooftop dawn Everybody up, we're moving on Rise up, rise up, light the way We've been waiting all night for the day Hands up high, here it comes Gold on the glass, here comes the sun Look down, the streets are filling up Look up, we're running over the top One breath, one beat, one more step Everything we wanted, we ain't done yet Rise up, rise up, rooftop dawn Everybody up, we're moving on Rise up, rise up, light the way We've been waiting all night for the day Hands up high, here it comes Gold on the glass, here comes the sun Here comes the sun Rise up, rise up
