Lyrics
Two boys in a garage with one old amp Wires on the floor and a flickering lamp We said we would play till the sun came up We said forever, and we meant it Then work came calling, then the years rolled on Different towns, different songs I kept your picture on the shelf And never said it out loud Where did all the good days go I still hear the riff, I still know We said forever on a garage floor And I still believe it, I still want more Pick up the guitar, I will pick up mine We can start again, it is not too late We said forever on a garage floor Open up the door I drove across the county line Your porch light was on You stood there with a guitar case And you said, what took you so long That's how good friends go Gone for years, but they still know We said forever on a garage floor And I still believe it, I still want more Pick up the guitar, I will pick up mine We can start again, it is not too late We said forever on a garage floor Open up the door One more verse and one more song The old amp hums, we play along Years fall away like dust from the shelf And we sound just like ourselves We said forever on a garage floor And I still believe it, I still want more Pick up the guitar, I will pick up mine We can start again, it is not too late We said forever on a garage floor Open up the door Open up the door
