Lyrics
The streetcars are all sleeping Lined up in a row Rain on the metal rooftops Ticking soft and slow A little cat is curled On a seat inside Warm against the cold With nowhere left to hide Purr me to sleep, little depot cat Purr me to sleep tonight Purr me to sleep, little depot cat Everything's all right The tracks are shining silver Under one yellow lamp The bells have all stopped ringing The seats are warm and damp The night watch walks on by And whispers hush now, hush The cat just blinks and settles In the quiet and the hush Purr me to sleep, little depot cat Purr me to sleep tonight Purr me to sleep, little depot cat Everything's all right Somewhere in the city Someone cannot rest Hear the little purring Dream a little nest Purr me to sleep, little depot cat Purr me to sleep tonight Purr me to sleep, little depot cat Everything's all right Purr me to sleep Everything's all right
