Lyrics
Five o'clock and the whole world's honking Brake lights stretching to the sun Man in the van next to me is drumming On his dashboard, just for fun Coffee's cold and the clock is crawling But the radio just caught a beat Nowhere to go and we're all going nowhere Together, in the heat Bumper to bumper, heart to heart Everybody's got a place to start Crawling home with the sun going down Singing loud in a slow-moving town Bumper to bumper, heart to heart We were never really far apart Hold on tight, the road will clear We're all just trying to get back here Girl in the lane beside me waves She's got a dog in the passenger seat Truck driver tips his cap my way Like we're old friends on the street Somebody's singing out their window Somebody's tapping on the wheel Funny how a jam can tie you in To the way that strangers feel Bumper to bumper, heart to heart Everybody's got a place to start Crawling home with the sun going down Singing loud in a slow-moving town Bumper to bumper, heart to heart We were never really far apart Hold on tight, the road will clear We're all just trying to get back here And the lights turn green, one by one The whole line moves like a river Everybody's heading to a porch light Everybody's heading to a giver Bumper to bumper, heart to heart Everybody's got a place to start Crawling home with the sun going down Singing loud in a slow-moving town Bumper to bumper, heart to heart We were never really far apart Hold on tight, the road will clear We're all just trying to get back here All just trying to get back here Singing loud, the road is clear
