Lyrics
Two lane blacktop and the town asleep Dashboard glowing like a small green moon The radio is whispering something low An old song humming out a gentle tune Nobody on the road but me and the stars And a truck up ahead with a tail light red I follow it a while like a friend I've never met Easy now, easy now, it's all been said Hush now, the road is long Hush now, the night is kind Dashboard glow and a quiet song Nothing left to leave behind Hush now, you're not alone Somebody's light is on Hush now, the road is long Carry on, carry on Coffee going cold in the cup holder Window cracked to let the cool air in A gas station sign hums in the distance Welcome, stranger, come on in I'll stop a while and stretch my tired back Buy a pack of gum from a sleepy clerk He nods and says, drive safe, now, hon We both know the night is hard work Hush now, the road is long Hush now, the night is kind Dashboard glow and a quiet song Nothing left to leave behind Hush now, you're not alone Somebody's light is on Hush now, the road is long Carry on, carry on And when the sky begins to turn From black to blue to rose You'll feel the weight lift from your chest Just where the morning goes Hush now, the road is long Hush now, the night is kind Dashboard glow and a quiet song Nothing left to leave behind Hush now, you're not alone Somebody's light is on Hush now, the road is long Carry on, carry on Carry on
