Lyrics
You called to say the night's not right Storm clouds hanging over the city lights I had the dress, I had the plan I had a coffee cup and a steady hand You said let's wait, let's take a rain check I smiled on the phone, then looked at my own neck In the mirror, the glitter was fading slow But something in me whispered, don't let go Rain check on midnight, hold it for me Keep the best of tonight for what's meant to be Rain check on midnight, I'll wait in the glow Some things are better when they take it slow I watch the rain draw lines on the glass Counting all the cars that go slowly past I'm not mad, I'm just a little blue Wishing the sky would make way for you So I put on a song, let the kettle sing Dance in the kitchen like it's a ring If the night is postponed, then the love can be A little more patient and a little more free Rain check on midnight, hold it for me Keep the best of tonight for what's meant to be Rain check on midnight, I'll wait in the glow Some things are better when they take it slow Tomorrow's got a clear sky waiting Same street, same me, same heart racing Say you'll come when the clouds roll through I'll be right here, saving a dance for you Rain check on midnight, hold it for me Keep the best of tonight for what's meant to be Rain check on midnight, I'll wait in the glow Some things are better when they take it slow Rain check, rain check Midnight, I'll wait
