Lyrics
Leash is in my hand, the sun is on the street There's a wiggle at the door and four excited feet Tail like a windmill, nose up to the breeze Every lamppost is a headline, every corner is a tease Step step sniff, step step stop He says hello to the whole wide block It's the good boy parade, down the avenue we go Every neighbour's gonna wave and the whole world's gonna know Ears up, heart up, happy as can be It's the good boy parade, and he's walking me Hey! Good boy! Hey! Good boy! Past the corner bakery, he sits up very straight Hoping that the baker has a biscuit on a plate A kid says, "Can I pet him?" and he leans into her knee Everybody's smiling, and it's all because of he Step step sniff, step step stop He says hello to the whole wide block It's the good boy parade, down the avenue we go Every neighbour's gonna wave and the whole world's gonna know Ears up, heart up, happy as can be It's the good boy parade, and he's walking me Hey! Good boy! Hey! Good boy! Puddle on the pavement, he's a splash-and-go machine Muddy little socks on the cleanest day you've seen Stick as long as a trombone, carried like a prize Pride in every footstep and the sunshine in his eyes Slow down, look around There's a whole lot of good on the ground Stop and sniff the flowers, take your time Every little walk is a gift, every little walk is fine It's the good boy parade, down the avenue we go Every neighbour's gonna wave and the whole world's gonna know Ears up, heart up, happy as can be It's the good boy parade, and he's walking me Hey! Good boy! Hey! Good boy! Home again, bowl is full, he's sleeping by the door Dreaming of tomorrow's parade and so much more Good boy, good boy, best in the land Good boy parade, hand in paw, hand in hand
