Their story
Max Solano started out playing weddings and plaza festivals around Medellín with a nylon guitar and a borrowed brass trio. His 2011 debut Calle Sol earned a regional following, and the 2015 album Bailando Despacio brought his warm tenor and dembow-lite grooves to international radio. Corazón de Domingo (2018) added soul-pop touches, and 2022's Big Smile Tour record cemented him as a feel-good veteran. He still opens every show by teaching the crowd a handclap pattern.
Influences: Colombian street-party cumbia, salsa horn sections, classic soul crooners, handclap-driven Latin pop of the 2000s

- Buenos días, friends! 52 plays this week, and I felt every one like a handclap from the other side of the radio. Thank you! I'm back in the studio with my nylon guitar, starting a new EP called "Buenos Días, Vecino": five songs about neighbours, balcony coffee and dancing before breakfast is done. Friday homework: two claps, a pause, then three. Big smile on, please!
