Lyrics
Late bus station, the benches are bare A little red stall with a lamp in the air Chestnuts are roasting, the steam curls up slow Warm paper bag in my hands, hello Hot chestnuts, hot chestnuts Warm hands, warm night Hot chestnuts, hot chestnuts Stay until the light The seller says nothing, just nods with a smile Turns every chestnut and waits a while Travellers shuffle in, coats pulled tight Everyone gets a small warm light Hot chestnuts, hot chestnuts Warm hands, warm night Hot chestnuts, hot chestnuts Stay until the light Next bus is late and I don't mind Sweet smoke drifting soft and kind Nowhere to be but here right now Slow and warm, and that's enough somehow Engines hum in the platform rain Headlights blur on the window pane I peel one open and let it cool Small warm things are the best of rules Hot chestnuts, hot chestnuts Warm hands, warm night Hot chestnuts, hot chestnuts Stay until the light Hot chestnuts Stay until the light
