Their story
Cassio Lune started making beats in 2014 in his grandmother's spare room in Lisbon, sampling warped jazz records and recording only after midnight with the window open. His instrumental tape 'Open Window Sessions' (2015) found a following online, and he began adding his own soft vocals on 'Sleepless Hours' (2018). 'Rhodes & Rain' (2020) and 'Low Tide Loops' (2023) made him a steady name in chillhop. He still works at night, now from a small studio over a bakery.
Influences: Dusty jazz sample records, 90s boom-bap instrumentals, tape-saturated soul, late-night radio, bossa nova guitar loops
Latest from Cassio Lune
- Quiet week up here over the bakery. 26 plays, and I'm grateful for every one of you who stayed up with me. I just started a new EP called "First Light, Flour on the Keys": five songs about the hour when my night ends and the ovens downstairs wake up. Dusty loops, a little bossa guitar, window open as always. More soon. Sleep well, or don't, I'll be here.
