Lyrics
Woke up and the window wore a silver lace First frost whispered across the place You're by the stove with your socks mismatched Steam from the kettle, a morning latch I trace a heart on the glass with my thumb Cold on my fingertip, warm where you come Come here, closer, let the cold stay out This is what the quiet is all about First frost, two mugs Wrapped in your sweater, wrapped in your hugs First frost, two mugs Winter's at the window, but we're warm in love Sip it slow, let the morning stay Nowhere to be on a day like today First frost, two mugs First frost, two mugs Breath clouds drifting when we step outside Crunch of the lawn like a gentle tide You tuck my scarf, you fix my collar Say it's the best kind of cold, I'd follow Neighbors' chimneys sketching smoke in the air Everything slows and I don't have a care Come here, closer, let the cold stay out This is what the quiet is all about First frost, two mugs Wrapped in your sweater, wrapped in your hugs First frost, two mugs Winter's at the window, but we're warm in love Sip it slow, let the morning stay Nowhere to be on a day like today First frost, two mugs First frost, two mugs If the world gets loud, we'll hum it low If the days get short, we'll let it show Cocoa and candle and your hand in mine Every little minute is a gentle line First frost, two mugs Wrapped in your sweater, wrapped in your hugs First frost, two mugs Winter's at the window, but we're warm in love Sip it slow, let the morning stay Nowhere to be on a day like today First frost, two mugs First frost, two mugs Two mugs, one blanket Steam rising, we thank it
