Lyrics
Badge says my name, but it's hanging crooked Coffee's too hot and the desk is new Everyone knows where the good mugs live And I'm still learning where to go First day, first day Take it one small thing at a time First day, first day Everybody starts at the bottom line Name tag crooked, that's all right I'll be at home here by the end of the night First day, first day I'm learning, I'm learning, I'm fine Somebody smiled and showed me the printer Somebody said, you'll get the hang Lunch was a sandwich on the stairs The afternoon went by like a song First day, first day Take it one small thing at a time First day, first day Everybody starts at the bottom line Name tag crooked, that's all right I'll be at home here by the end of the night First day, first day I'm learning, I'm learning, I'm fine Pay cheque, someday, rent and dreams Somewhere in the middle of it all I'm a person with a place to be Standing small and standing tall Walking out into the evening The streetlights blinking, one by one I did not break, I did not spill I think that first day is done First day, first day Take it one small thing at a time First day, first day Everybody starts at the bottom line Name tag crooked, that's all right I'll be at home here by the end of the night First day, first day I'm learning, I'm learning, I'm fine First day, done I'm fine
