Lyrics
The gown is in the back seat The tassel swings and sways The ceremony's over Now we've got the whole long day Windows down, the radio on Nobody's counting the time We walked across the stage today Now the road is mine We did it, we did it, we're driving into the light Gown in the back seat, the whole wide world in sight We did it, we did it, sing it loud tonight Windows down, windows down, everything is bright Mama cried by the folding chairs Dad held up his phone My best friend yelled my full name Like a song I'd always known Paper rolled up in a tube It weighs almost nothing at all But it feels like a key to a door At the end of a hallway wall We did it, we did it, we're driving into the light Gown in the back seat, the whole wide world in sight We did it, we did it, sing it loud tonight Windows down, windows down, everything is bright Four years in a single breath Late nights and early trains Now the sun is going gold On the wet and shining lanes We did it, we did it, we're driving into the light Gown in the back seat, the whole wide world in sight We did it, we did it, sing it loud tonight Windows down, windows down, everything is bright Gown in the back seat Windows down, windows down
