Lyrics
Under the lamp on a quiet street A man with a guitar and tired feet He plays it low and he plays it slow And I take your hand and we sway just so Play it soft, play it smooth Nothing to say and nothing to prove Stay a little longer with me Dance in the light, easy and free Play it soft, play it smooth There's a coin in my pocket, I drop it in He nods his head and he starts again The night is warm and the road is bare Your head on my shoulder, the music in the air Play it soft, play it smooth Nothing to say and nothing to prove Stay a little longer with me Dance in the light, easy and free Play it soft, play it smooth Slow, slow, round and round Soft, soft, no other sound Hold me close, the song is true Nothing else, just me and you Play it soft, play it smooth Nothing to say and nothing to prove Stay a little longer with me Dance in the light, easy and free Play it soft, play it smooth Play it soft Play it smooth
