Their story
Rue Calloway-Voss started as a solo act in 2014, playing a detuned thrift-store guitar in Tacoma laundromats and bar back rooms. Her debut 'Flooded Lot' (2016) was recorded live in one night with a rotating crew of session players, and its raw quiet-loud swings won her a loyal following. 'Low Tide Anthems' and 'Static Halo' brought heavier bass and slower, sludgier tempos, and her cracked, shouted delivery became her calling card. Now a seasoned headliner, she keeps a revolving band but remains the one name on the record.
Influences: Rain on corrugated roofs, detuned thrift-store guitars, early-90s Pacific Northwest sludge, torch-song heartbreak and late-night truck-stop radio
