Lyrics
Far from the harbour, far from the street Far from the kitchen where the whole family eats The ship is humming under my feet A thousand miles of water, a thousand miles of sleep Counting the nights Counting the stars Homesick in the hum of the engine Carry me home, carry me home Homesick in the hum of the engine I will not stay gone, I will not stay gone A photo in my pocket, the corners worn thin My daughter's drawing of a house with a grin The radio plays the song from back then I sing it to the sea and I sing it again Counting the nights Counting the stars Homesick in the hum of the engine Carry me home, carry me home Homesick in the hum of the engine I will not stay gone, I will not stay gone Land on the horizon A light on the shore Land on the horizon I am coming home Homesick in the hum of the engine Carry me home, carry me home Homesick in the hum of the engine I will not stay gone, I will not stay gone Carry me home Carry me home
