Lyrics
The hallway's quiet, the lockers are bare Chalk dust floating in the light A teacher sits and wipes the board On the last day of the year Empty desks, chalk dust in the light Another year goes by Empty desks, chalk dust in the light We grew up here, goodbye Out the window the kids run free Backpacks flying, shouting loud She smiles and sets her chalk down Feeling small and feeling proud Empty desks, chalk dust in the light Another year goes by Empty desks, chalk dust in the light We grew up here, goodbye Close the door Turn off the light See you in the fall See you in the fall She walks out slowly to the sun The bell is ringing one last time The summer wind is warm and wide And everything is fine Empty desks, chalk dust in the light Another year goes by Empty desks, chalk dust in the light We grew up here, goodbye We grew up here Goodbye
