Lyrics
I slammed the door on yesterday, I swore I wouldn't turn There's dust on all the promises I let go cold and burn But the sky outside is washing clean the windows of the street And something small inside my chest is learning how to beat Maybe the world is wide enough For a second chance to land Give the morning another try Let the light come in again We were never done, we were only waiting For the courage to begin Open up the door and let the sunrise through Nothing's lost that love can mend Give the morning another try And the day will be a friend You left a message on my phone, I played it twice and cried It wasn't a grand apology, it was simple and it was kind So I'm walking down the staircase with my heart held in my hands Not sure what the answer is but ready to stand Maybe the world is wide enough For a second chance to land Give the morning another try Let the light come in again We were never done, we were only waiting For the courage to begin Open up the door and let the sunrise through Nothing's lost that love can mend Give the morning another try And the day will be a friend Every ending has a doorway Every doorway has a key And the key was always warm In the pocket next to me Give the morning another try Let the light come in again We were never done, we were only waiting For the courage to begin Open up the door and let the sunrise through Nothing's lost that love can mend Give the morning another try And the day will be a friend Another try Another try And the day will be a friend
