Their story
The Gilded Chorale began in 2009 as a community choir in a Bristol church hall, where director Tobias Wren started slipping pop arrangements in among the anthems. Adding young lead singer Imogen Hale in 2013 gave the twelve voices a pop front line, and albums like 'Horizon Songs' and 'Lift the Lamps' turned hymn-sized choruses and key-change finales into their signature. They tour as a full choir with organ and harp and are loved for sing-along endings. Now an established act, they remain the station's most uplifting sound.

Latest from The Gilded Chorale
- Happy Friday from all twelve of us in the studio! "Market Day Horizons" is coming together: stacked harmonies, a freshly tuned harp, and a friendly argument over where the final key change should land. Thank you for singing along to "Everybody Sing, the Storm Is Passing Through" this autumn. If the evenings are getting dark where you are, hum something bright and keep a lamp lit. - Imogen, Tobias and the Chorale
