Lyrics
Found a little trophy in a bin for a dollar Plastic gold runner with a chipped-off collar Somebody won something, small but it was theirs Now it's sitting on a shelf between the toasters and the chairs I won a spelling bee in the fourth grade Word was "persevere," and I never forgot how it's made Wore that ribbon home like a crown on a queen Mama taped it to the fridge next to the coupons and the beans Small win, big noise, clap for it loud Small win, big noise, make the whole room proud Don't wait for the stadium, don't wait for the crowd Small win, big noise, clap for it loud Got my bus pass renewed with a minute to spare Caught the green light, caught a seat, caught a breeze in my hair Fixed the leaky faucet with a YouTube clip Called that a victory, did a little hip-hip Critics say it's tiny, I say tiny is the key Stack enough of tiny and you're a whole library Every little finish line is a line in my verse Count them like the coins in a half-empty purse Small win, big noise, clap for it loud Small win, big noise, make the whole room proud Don't wait for the stadium, don't wait for the crowd Small win, big noise, clap for it loud Bought that trophy home, gave it a spot by the door Every time I leave it whispers, go get some more Not more gold, just more days that I try Little victories lined up like stars in a sky So if you finished laundry, congratulations, friend If you answered that email, take a bow, take a bend The world keeps score in numbers that are big I keep mine in the moments, and the moments are the gig Somebody, somewhere, polished that cup Somebody, somewhere, stood up, stood up Hold it to the light, let it shine on your face Small win, big noise, take your place Small win, big noise, clap for it loud Small win, big noise, make the whole room proud Don't wait for the stadium, don't wait for the crowd Small win, big noise, clap for it loud Clap for it loud Clap for it loud
