Lyrics
The pool is green and empty The ice machine hums low A neon sign is buzzing I have nowhere to go The room has two thin pillows The curtain holds the heat I'm sitting on the bedspread With my shoes beside my feet Stay here for the night Stay here, the light is green Stay here for the night The quietest I've been Stay here for the night Let the desert hold me tight Stay here for the night Stay here, stay here tonight A truck goes by at midnight The headlights cross the wall I count them, one and two and three Then nothing else at all I called nobody tonight I didn't have to say That I'm okay and not okay Both at the end of the day Stay here for the night Stay here, the light is green Stay here for the night The quietest I've been Stay here for the night Let the desert hold me tight Stay here for the night Stay here, stay here tonight Soft now Soft now The ice machine hums on Soft now Morning will come along Stay here for the night Stay here, the light is green Stay here for the night The quietest I've been Stay here for the night Let the desert hold me tight Stay here for the night Stay here, stay here tonight
