Lyrics
Early bus at six o'clock Boots laced up tight First week on the job now Learning to do it right Hands are rough and tired Back is sore tonight But I walk home standing tall Under the morning light First pay packet, hold it proud Honest work, say it loud Every coin is a day I gave First pay packet, stand up brave Mama at the table Waiting with the tea Show her what I carried Showed her I was free Fold a little for her Save a little more Thank the Lord for morning And the open door First pay packet, hold it proud Honest work, say it loud Every coin is a day I gave First pay packet, stand up brave Step by step Day by day Steady work Lights the way First pay packet, hold it proud Honest work, say it loud Every coin is a day I gave First pay packet, stand up brave Hold it proud Stand up brave
