Lyrics
They said keep it quiet, keep it small I got the whole block singing down the hall Teacher said no, the boss said wait I'm already moving, I don't hesitate Hand-me-down jacket, but the walk is new Every closed door, I knock twice, I knock through They wrote my ending before I began I tore up the page and I made a new plan Say it louder, shoulders back Never been about the easy track Don't tell me to sit down I'm standing on the sound Don't tell me to slow down Watch me run this town Hands up, heads up, never bowing out This is what the fire's about Don't tell me to sit down I'm standing on the sound Skye said they doubted us, we heard it twice We turned every doubt into a bigger price Back row, front row, now we hold the floor Every no we got just a louder encore Bus pass in my pocket, dream in my chest Told me I'm too young, I'm still not impressed Hi-hats rolling, 808s slide Nobody gets to tell me where to hide Say it louder, shoulders back Never been about the easy track Don't tell me to sit down I'm standing on the sound Don't tell me to slow down Watch me run this town Hands up, heads up, never bowing out This is what the fire's about Don't tell me to sit down I'm standing on the sound If you're the one they said can't Stand up, stand up If you're the one they said wait Stand up, stand up We all rise, we all rise Eyes up to the sky Don't tell me to sit down I'm standing on the sound Don't tell me to slow down Watch me run this town Hands up, heads up, never bowing out This is what the fire's about Don't tell me to sit down I'm standing on the sound Stand up, stand up Never sit down
