Lyrics
I told my brother I would come When the old shop closed its door Ten years gone, and I kept my word I'm standing here once more Rust on the gate But the lock still turns Steel gate, kept word I stand where I said I would stand Steel gate, kept word Hammer and heart in my hand I said I'd return, and I did Steel gate, kept word The sign is faded, the yard is bare But our names are on the wall He carved them there with a nail one night Two boys, standing tall Rust on the gate But the lock still turns Steel gate, kept word I stand where I said I would stand Steel gate, kept word Hammer and heart in my hand I said I'd return, and I did Steel gate, kept word A promise is iron A promise is iron Cold in the morning Warm in the hand Steel gate, kept word I stand where I said I would stand Steel gate, kept word Hammer and heart in my hand I said I'd return, and I did Steel gate, kept word Kept word Kept word
