Lyrics
Five a.m., sky still gray, shoelaces tight Empty stadium waiting with the dawn for light Concrete steps going up like a ladder to the moon Lungs on fire but I'm humming my tune Hundred steps, two hundred, don't look down Every sweat drop is a drum in this town Nobody in the stands but the pigeons and me Running for the person I'm about to be Up, up, up we go Legs say no, heart says go Sprint the steps, sprint the steps Take it one more, no regrets Climb it, climb it, to the top Hear that beat, it won't stop Sprint the steps, sprint the steps Sunrise on my back and I'm not done yet Hands up high when I hit the rail Sprint the steps, we don't fail Skye on the rail with a clock in her hand Calling out the seconds like a drum machine band Cold air biting but my engine's hot Every single stair is a shot I got Water bottle empty, turn around and go Down is just a breath before the show Little kid watching from the gate at the top Says I wanna run like that, don't stop Up, up, up we go Legs say no, heart says go Sprint the steps, sprint the steps Take it one more, no regrets Climb it, climb it, to the top Hear that beat, it won't stop Sprint the steps, sprint the steps Sunrise on my back and I'm not done yet Hands up high when I hit the rail Sprint the steps, we don't fail Slow it down, breathe it in The gold light starting to begin Heartbeat thunder, hear it roar One more climb, then one more Last set now, top row in sight Sun just broke and the whole sky's bright Reach the top and I spin around Whole city waking up beneath my sound Nobody gave me this, I earned each stair Chest wide open, tasting the air Tomorrow I'll be back, same time, same place Chasing a better version of my face Sprint the steps, sprint the steps Take it one more, no regrets Climb it, climb it, to the top Hear that beat, it won't stop Sprint the steps, sprint the steps Sunrise on my back and I'm not done yet Hands up high when I hit the rail Sprint the steps, we don't fail Up, up, up we go Sunrise, sunrise, go, go, go
