Lyrics
I looked all over the house Under the couch, in the car The key was gone for a week I thought it fell too far Then I put on my old coat The grey one from the cold Something small was in the pocket Something small and old Found it in the coat Found it in the coat The thing I lost Was close the whole time Found it in the coat Found it in the coat Sometimes the answer Is just where you left it behind There was a ticket stub inside And a note in my hand It said call me when you land I never did understand I sit down on the stairs I hold the key and the note Some things you lose on purpose And some you just forgot Found it in the coat Found it in the coat The thing I lost Was close the whole time Found it in the coat Found it in the coat Sometimes the answer Is just where you left it behind I will call tonight I will say hello It is late but it is time It is late but it is time Found it in the coat Found it in the coat The thing I lost Was close the whole time Found it in the coat Found it in the coat Sometimes the answer Is just where you left it behind
