Lyrics
White sheets swaying on a rooftop line Silver in the moon, and the night is fine Little breezes lift them, one by one Drying all the worries of the day undone Sway, soft sheets, sway Wave the long night slowly away Moon on the cotton, wind on the thread Sway, soft sheets, over my head Pegs like small birds holding on Shirts like ghosts that are gently gone The city sleeps below the sky And the washing waves goodbye Sway, soft sheets, sway Wave the long night slowly away Moon on the cotton, wind on the thread Sway, soft sheets, over my head Everything clean by the morning light Folded and fresh and set down right Hang up the weight, let the wind take it Dawn will wake it Sway, soft sheets, sway Wave the long night slowly away Moon on the cotton, wind on the thread Sway, soft sheets, over my head Sway, soft sheets Sway
