Liner notes

State Line Hymnal is the record where we finally sounded like the band we are on stage. We wrote most of it in the van, passing a notebook around the front seat, and tracked it live with the whole crew singing in one room. Every song is a small prayer for somewhere we were just passing through: a porch in a blackout, a laundromat at midnight, a maple tree back home. It made us a dependable live band, and we have not stopped touring it since.
