Earl Dupree & The Late Shift

An older newcomer, a Memphis-born soul crooner who spent decades as a session player before stepping up to the microphone. His grainy, grateful voice leads a tight groove trio.

Their story

Earl Dupree played guitar and organ behind other singers around Memphis for thirty years before forming The Late Shift in 2024, finally stepping up to sing his own songs. Their first record 'Overtime Blues' (2024) was cut live in two days, and 'Clocking Out' (2025) has made them the label's most unlikely rising act. The band keeps the grooves low and the vocal grateful.

The band

  • Walter Pryce Hammond organ
