Apology Tour of the Interstate

Lyrics

I've got a list of the folks I let down
Written on the back of a map of the town
Drummer's mom, and the girl from Tulsa
And the friend whose couch I slept on, no reason to
We're pulling out at dawn, no time to waste
Got a lot of miles and a lot of face

So crank the heater, roll the window down
I'm going to say it to every little town

This is the apology tour of the interstate
Saying sorry for the things I said too late
Every mile marker, every rest stop sign
Is a chance to make it right one more time
This is the apology tour, hear me sing
Hat in my hand and a harmony ring
If you've got a door, I'll knock real slow
Sorry's a song that I finally know

Knocked on a porch in a little Kansas town
Old friend opened up with a half a frown
I said I'm sorry for the way that I left
He said, come on in, you look half dead
We shared a beer, and we shared a laugh
And he never once asked for the better half

So crank the heater, roll the window down
I'm going to say it to every little town

This is the apology tour of the interstate
Saying sorry for the things I said too late
Every mile marker, every rest stop sign
Is a chance to make it right one more time
This is the apology tour, hear me sing
Hat in my hand and a harmony ring
If you've got a door, I'll knock real slow
Sorry's a song that I finally know

Some will forgive and some won't
Some will listen and some just don't
But the road keeps rolling, the sun comes through
And I'm a little lighter than I ever knew

This is the apology tour of the interstate
Saying sorry for the things I said too late
Every mile marker, every rest stop sign
Is a chance to make it right one more time
This is the apology tour, hear me sing
Hat in my hand and a harmony ring
If you've got a door, I'll knock real slow
Sorry's a song that I finally know

Sorry's a song that I finally know
Sing it with me now, sing it slow
