Lyrics
A desk lamp pools on the old green felt Tiny screws in a saucer of light I lean in close with a steady hand Waking a watch that stopped one night Clocks on the wall all disagree Each one keeping its own small time I do not mind, I do not mind There is no hurry in this room of mine Tick, slow tick, take your time Every little gear will find its rhyme Nothing is broken that cannot mend Slow and steady to the end A grandfather sleeps by the door His pendulum swings in the dark The rain taps softly on the glass And I fix the hours, one little spark Tick, slow tick, take your time Every little gear will find its rhyme Nothing is broken that cannot mend Slow and steady to the end Wind it gently, wind it slow Let the spring remember how to go Tick, tick, tick, and there it goes Time is only a thing that grows Tick, slow tick, take your time Every little gear will find its rhyme Nothing is broken that cannot mend Slow and steady to the end Tick, slow tick, take your time Slow and steady to the end
